Review the learning material and respond to the following prompts in your main discussion post. Be sure to support your opinion with learning materials or external resources.

In Module 1 we learned how achieving success starts with setting meaningful goals. But it doesnt end there. As discussed in Sections 2.1 through 2.8 of the TriSuccess readings this module, the next steps are managing your time effectively and taking deliberate action to accomplish those goals. Time is one of your most valuable personal resourceswhen you take control of it, you gain greater control of your life! This module is packed with practical strategies to help you master time management, set priorities, overcome procrastination, and follow through on tasks.

As discussed in TriSuccess Section 2.10, procrastination isnt always about poor time managementit can sometimes stem from deeper concerns. For some, its a way to protect their self-esteem or self-image. For others, fear of failure or making mistakes leads to putting things off. In school, procrastination often happens when students feel confused or unsure about how to complete an assignment, causing them to delay getting started.

Take a moment to reflect on this idea and respond to the following prompts:

  • Understanding Procrastination: Share a time you procrastinated, and the underlying reason for the procrastination.
  • Combating Procrastination: What steps can you take to overcome procrastination and maintain consistent progress toward your goals?

When responding to classmates, consider making suggestions on what strategies you would use to beat procrastination.

First, review the Discussion Rubric before posting to maximize credit. You will need to post THREE TIMES (one for the prompted questions and two reactions to your classmates) to the Discussion board. Participation in these discussions is worth 20% of your grade, so please be sure to make three posts using high-quality responses to receive full credit. More detailed instructions are listed below:

  • Make your initial post by starting a NEW thread within 6 days of the beginning of each module.
  • A substantial initial post is at least 200 words and thoroughly addresses the discussion questions. Support your opinion with learning materials or external sources.
  • Respond to at least two classmates on different days by hittingreplyin their original thread. Support your opinion with learning materials or external sources.
  • A response to a classmate is 100 or more words (no simple agreements or disagreements).

There are no late penalties for this assignment. Please note that all work must be completed by the last day of class.
