Case Assignment 

Cross-Functional Management and Organization Behavior

HR/Team Dynamics, Leadership, and Organizational Culture were prevalent themes in earlier coursework. Connecting those concepts to Strategic Management is the focus of Case 1. 

Strategic management is a complex discipline and requires tools and resources across departments. Research how it all works together to optimize performance and productivity in a culturally diverse environment. Use quality research published within the last year. Articles from the library databases are a good choice. Library databases allow searching by date. In Google search, click “Tools” and enter the date range.

• Explore the role of the overall management function. Include work from home (WFH) and hybrid schedules in the coverage. (1 page).
• How does marketing fit in the scenario? Consider social media implications in the workplace. (1 page).
• Connect how managerial economics supports the process. Look at trends like unemployment, reskilling, and the Great Resignation. (1 page).
• Consider the function of data analysis in the process. Include information on how data is used by managers. (1 page).
• Explore accounting and finance tools that are integral to achieving the performance and operational productivity goals. Consider how benchmarking is addressed. (1 page).
• Include a discussion of workplace diversity as a consideration. (1 page).

Drawing from Chapters 1 through 6 of Breisach's Historiography:  Ancient, Medieval, and Modern, and other scholarly materials a elsewhere, write your own interpretative account of the evolution of historiography in either Greek or Roman civilization. 

In your summary, indicate the contributions of your selection (be it  Greek or Roman) to early historical scholarship. In other words, this is about Greek or Roman historians in the context in which they wrote their histories - the summary is not about the legacy of Greek or Roman historians today.

You may focus on one historian or a group of historians from either Greece or Rome.  Many students often do little more than take notes from Breisach. This  would be passable, but it is not what I am looking for. It is for this  reason that you must also do outside research on the topic. Use Breisach  but use other sources as well. You should also trust yourself – use  what you know to discuss something with which you may not be completely  familiar.

Important Notes:

• The summary you submit should be carefully scrutinized for errors. I  tire quickly with summarys that use "their" instead of "there" or "where"  instead of "were." Proofread, and then proofread some more!
• In general, all-purpose internet sources cannot be used for citation  purposes. Exceptions are the scholarly websites and documents available  through the APUS Online Library, or other academic websites. While  indeed useful for a quick reference, Wikipedia is not considered a valid  academic source. 
• The number of students using generative AI tools to compose posts and  replies is escalating at an alarming rate. Just so you know, I can sort  of tell when AI has been used and whether its usage is a sign of misuse  or misconduct. I have NO problem if you are using AI intelligently and  responsibly. Using the Formatting Style Guide from your primary Area of Study, write a 3–4-page essay discussing the integration of faith and learning. From the readings in Module 3, answer the following questions:

Milestone 5: Synthesis, Summary, Paraphrase and Quote

In this assignment you're going to work on weaving together your sources to begin answering your research questions. 

Use this opportunity to showcase your engagement with the research you've done so far, and to get preliminary feedback on the synthesis of sources that will be important to your final paper. 

Instructions

To complete this milestone, you need to: 

1. Review at least 4 different sources
   1. These can include the primary or secondary sources from your primary, secondary and tertiary source assignment, or the academic journals used in your methodological sources assignment.
   2. You can also add new sources, as long as they are primary or secondary works that meet the standards for quality sources set in this course.  In addition, secondary sources should be academic journals or books.
2. Restate your topic and research questions.  It's fine if these have changed since you first began working on them earlier in the course.
   1. In one to two paragraphs, synthesize the main ideas of the four sources you're working with as they pertain to answering your research questions.
   2. Using the four sources incorporate a quote, a summary, and a paraphrase into your writing.  Each should be properly cited. 
   3. Put your summary in bold, and your paraphrase in italics so that your professor is able to see them in the response.
