Throughout this course, you had opportunities to clarify your passions and interests in psychology practice and scholarship, to create goals to help you achieve your vision, and to explore the competencies and requirements for pursuing a career in your specialized field of psychology. To begin this assessment:
- Take some time to reflect on all you have learned about the field and ways you can contribute to psychology, especially within your specialization.
- Primary audience: Because this is a personal vision statement for your future career, you are your primary audience.
- Secondary audience: Your vision should also be clear to other people (such as family, friends, and your faculty) so you can share it with them and receive support to achieve it.
- Review work you have done in previous assessments that you could revise and incorporate into this final assessment.
- You are encouraged to interview a psychology professional in the specialization that is your focus. You can use the results of this interview in your assessment.
- Review the template. You will need to use this template when completing your assessment.

Use information from the media activity to create an introduction to your paper that addresses the following:
- Explain your passion and interest in psychology and how these relate to your previous personal and professional experiences.
- Provide contextual information someone else would need to know to fully understand your vision.
- This could include your previous personal and professional experiences related to your vision, any major influences that led you to psychology and your specialization, why your passions and interests in psychology are important to you, and any other relevant information to provide context for your vision.
Use information from your prior assessments (Assessments 1, 2, and 3) to guide you in addressing the content of the body of the paper. Make sure to revise the information from those assessments (rather than repeating verbatim) to create a logical flow in addressing the following:

- Describe your future career vision as a psychology practitioner-scholar. Discuss personally meaningful and relevant educational, career, and life goals to achieve your vision.

- Discuss why it is important to look for evidence-based literature to support your studies, including the types of articles you may need to find beyond peer-reviewed articles, to support your work in the field.

- Discuss how developing and maintaining supportive professional relationships will contribute to your overall academic and career success.
- Critical Thinking:
- Reflect on the importance of critical thinking and analyze the importance of critical thinking and effective decision making as a psychologist, with reference to real or hypothetical examples.
- Ethical Competencies:
- Discuss the ethical competencies related to your profession. Analyze the functions, responsibilities, and ethics required of a professional practitioner in a specialized area of psychology, integrating comprehensive knowledge of relevant professional standards and requirements.
- Cultural Competence:
- Discuss methods and techniques you will use now and throughout your program to establish cultural competence as it relates to your specialization and the future population you would like to work with.
- Specialization-Specific Professional Competencies and Requirements:
- Outline the requirements for your future career including high-level Capella program and specialization requirements, credentialing, certification, licensure, accreditation practices and standards, additional training, et cetera.
- Describe the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for success in your specialization. Include those related to communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and cultural competence.
- Include any key responsibilities associated with your specialization or the population or setting within which you plan to work.
- Goals and Action Plan:
- Create and discuss a detailed action plan to achieve career goals that includes all the required elements including the start-to-end duration of the goal or milestone, the goal or milestone being addressed, and the skill and experience gains from this goal or milestone.
- Conclusion:
- Explain the benefits of becoming a practitioner-scholar in the field of psychology and explain the importance and relevance of your vision and goals to your personal and professional aspirations. Summarize the entire paper from the abstract to the action plan.

Before You Submit

- Resources: A minimum of five resources with at least three of them from course readings. Your references may include both scholarly literature and practitioner sources. Do not include any information generated from artificial intelligenceall sources must be identifiable published sources. All references need to be cited in-text, according to current APA standards. Remember that citations are to support your thoughts, not take the place of them!
- Length: 68 typed, double-spaced pages, not including the title page, abstract, or references page.
- Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
