Purpose
This assessment task requires you to review one of the coroners case reports provided and present a review, analysis and critique of the report, apply the findings to your clinical practice and provide recommendations for future practice.
Task details
Select one of the three coroners’ reports provided. You need to read and undertake a critique of the report, providing an overview, followed by identifying key findings identified in the case. Identify and discuss the key concepts the coroner’s report presents. Using evidence from the literature, provide arguments to support the findings and recommendations for future practice. Link your recommendations to evidence.
Instructions
A suggested approach to your review is to use the following structure as a guide:
1. Introduction
2. Overview of coroners case report with key findings
3. Critique of the case outlining deficiencies (for example, in assessment, diagnostics, escalation of patient deterioration, teamwork, communication, etc.)
4. Provide recommendations for future nursing practice
